ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture was developed thousands of years ago in China and is one of the most widely practiced areas of complementary medicine.

Acupuncture, one of the most ancient and widely practiced forms of complementary medicine, was developed thousands of years ago in China. It is a holistic treatment based on the principle that Qi (energy) flows through channels, known as meridians, in the body. By inserting and manipulating fine needles at specific acupuncture points, acupuncture helps to restore balance, promote healing, and return the body to a state of homeostasis.

Acupuncture treatments can support both physical and emotional health by addressing underlying imbalances. It can help improve overall bodily function and well-being and is used for a wide range of health conditions. Treatments are personalised for each individual and may include complementary techniques such as electro-acupuncture, moxibustion, infra-red therapy, cupping, and gua sha to enhance therapeutic effects.

Acupuncture is also supported by a growing body of research, with moderate to strong evidence demonstrating its effectiveness in the treatment of a variety of health conditions (To read the research click here). When practiced by a registered Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, acupuncture is considered a safe, non-invasive treatment option. At Darling Health, we are committed to evidence-based practices that enhance our ability to support your health and well-being.

In Australia, acupuncture is a regulated practice under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Practitioners must complete a minimum four-year degree with over 600 hours of clinical training, ensuring high standards of safety and care. At Darling Health, we are committed to providing you with the highest level of acupuncture care, continually investing in ongoing education to enhance our expertise.
