Renee Boyd

Renee is a highly qualified and experienced acupuncturist and Chinese Medicinal herbalist, with a particular interest in women’s health, natural fertility and pregnancy support.  A dedicated and empathetic practitioner, Renee’s personalised treatments aim to achieve optimal health through acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, moxibustion, cupping, diet and lifestyle supports.

Renee is passionate about helping patients achieve their goal of becoming parents and has a wealth of experience with women and men’s infertility including unexplained infertility, recurrent miscarriages, ART/IVF/IUI support, hormonal imbalances, irregular ovulation, PCOS, endometriosis, sub-optimal egg quality and low sperm count/morphology/motility. Renee believes acupuncture is a fundamental part of a healthy fertility and pregnancy program and has a keen interest in working with patients undergoing IVF treatment and supporting women and partners through this time.

Renee shares in the joy of a healthy pregnancy and provides pregnancy support to maintain a healthy pregnancy.  Acupuncture can be a useful remedy to alleviate pregnancy related conditions, such as nausea, back pain, pelvic pain and post-natal depression.  Acupuncture can also assist with birth preparation. Clinical studies have shown that women who have weekly acupuncture treatment in the month leading up to their due date have shorter labours, fewer medical inductions and fewer emergency caesareans.

Renee is guided by the principles of integrative medicine, often collaborating with specialists, GP’s and other allied health practitioners to maintain a comprehensive, continuity of care. In addition to women’s health and infertility, Renee’s clinical focus includes insomnia, digestive problems, acute and chronic pain, skin conditions, emotional disorders and stress-related illness.  Renee is also certified in Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, a specialised program of acupuncture treatments targeted to help soften lines, lift sagging areas, increase firmness, and promote circulation to boost the production of collagen and elastin.

Renee completed a Bachelor of Health Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the University of Technology Sydney, achieving the University’s highest award for Chinese Herbal Medicine and the award for highest performing student in the final year.  She was also the recipient of the Dean’s Merit Award in each year of study.  Renee regularly participates in ongoing training and education and has completed postgraduate studies in women’s health, IVF, infertility, and pregnancy support.

Renee is an accredited member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA), the peak professional association for Chinese Medicine Practitioners in Australia, and a registered member of the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia.
